Interview for Maritime Economy with Edyta Bobek of MK Business Link about how attending an international trade show opens the door to global contracts.
Editor’s note: Events like ADIPEC are one of the most effective ways today to grow, expand abroad and build your brand in an international environment. We talk to Edyta Bobek, Sales Manager at MK Business Link, about the potential of the Abu Dhabi fair, opportunities for Polish companies in the energy, offshore and maritime sectors, and how MK Business Link supports companies in successfully entering the Gulf markets.
Editor: Ms. Edyta, why is presence at international trade fairs so important for Polish companies today?
Interviewer: Ms. Edyta, why is the presence at international trade fairs so important for Polish companies today?
Edyta Bobek: Participation in international trade fairs is still one of the most effective tools in building B2B relationships and attracting foreign partners. In the age of digitization and online communication, face-to-face meetings still have great value – especially in sectors as complex as energy, offshore or maritime logistics. For Polish companies, it’s a chance not only to present their products and services, but most importantly to establish long-term business relationships, show themselves as a reliable partner and increase brand recognition.
Editor: Which trade fair events are particularly noteworthy for representatives of these sectors at the moment?
Edyta Bobek: I strongly recommend ADIPEC from November 3-6 in Abu Dhabi as one of the most important events in the global energy sector. It’s an ideal space for both equipment manufacturers and engineering service providers, companies offering low-carbon solutions, digital technologies or representatives of the downstream industry. ADIPEC also offers four specialized thematic zones – the Decarbonization Zone, the Maritime and Logistics Zone, the Digitalization in Energy Zone, and the Manufacturing and Industrialization Zone – allowing companies to precisely match their participation to a specific market segment. First and foremost are companies from the oil, gas, energy, offshore, maritime logistics and high-tech sectors. This is the leading trade fair for the energy and maritime industries, covering the entire value chain – from ship technology to digitization and sustainability. The last edition attracted more than 205,000 visitors and 2,300 exhibitors from around the world – a huge platform for companies looking to build an international presence. What sets it apart is not only its scale, but also its tremendous impact – it’s a place where industry leaders, innovators, decision-makers and investors come together.
Editor: The UAE is a very specific market. What advantages can you bring by being right there?
Edyta Bobek: The UAE is a key player in the global energy market – based on oil and gas exports for decades, but at the same time investing heavily in energy transition and infrastructure. It has 11 green energy projects worth a total of $43 billion in 2022 alone. Currently, the UAE is focusing on diversifying its energy sources and developing renewable technologies, which creates real business opportunities for Polish companies offering modern and sustainable solutions. It is important to remember that participation in this fair should not be viewed solely through the prism of the UAE – its potential for impact extends to the entire Middle East region and beyond.
Editor: What effects can such events bring to companies? What about companies that do not yet have experience in the Middle East market?Edyta Bobek: Participation in the fair is a signal to the market that the company is active and has international ambitions. Besides, it’s an opportunity to talk directly with potential partners, customers and investors. Many of our customers return from the fair with specific requests for proposals, and some already sign letters of intent or first contracts during the event. The fair is also an excellent source of inspiration – it allows us to see what the competition is doing, what the current trends and challenges in the industry are, and to adjust our own offer to market expectations. We often see this in the experiences of our clients, who, thanks to such events, modify their products or services to better meet the needs of their customers.
Editor: What is MK Business Link’s role in all of this? How do you support companies?
Edyta Bobek: For nearly 10 years we have been providing comprehensive services to companies at international trade fair events, taking the entire organizational burden off the shoulders of exhibitors. This means that we take care of everything – from space reservations, logistics and booth design tailored to the needs and nature of the company, to promotional and business support. Importantly, we have access to locations that are generally booked well in advance. Our goal is not only to facilitate participation in trade fairs, but more importantly, to help you make a viable entry into Middle Eastern markets. We support companies in establishing relationships with partners in the GCC region through Business Matching programs, strategic consulting or organizing B2B meetings with local decision-makers and investors. In addition, we are the official representative of more than 30 trade fairs for Poland, making us a direct link between Middle Eastern business and Polish companies.
Editor: Finally, what would you advise companies that are thinking about participating in ADIPEC?
Edyta Bobek: Do not wait with your decision! This is the last moment to make a decision – the available exhibition space is quickly running out, and the earlier you start preparations, the better the chance to effectively plan promotional activities and provide your company with a stand that really attracts the attention of visitors. And after all, that’s exactly the point – to stand out and be remembered. There is no better investment in business development than having a real presence where the whole world of the industry meets. I encourage you to get noticed, to talk, to present your competence. With MK Business Link, the whole process is simpler and safer. We help companies achieve their goals – and the trade show at ADIPEC is the perfect place to start.
Editor: Thank you for the interview and your inspiring insight into the potential of trade fairs in the GCC region.
Edyta Bobek: Thank you also, and I warmly invite all companies from Poland to cooperate and be present at the fair! I encourage you to contact me – I will be happy to provide details. Thanks to our knowledge of local realities, contacts and experience, we guarantee our clients a safe, professional and effective participation in the events.
